Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo has been reappointed Inspector General of the Namibian Police for another three-year term.
Shikongo was appointed to his current position by President Hage Geingob on 22 August 2022 and was scheduled to retire when he turned 60 on September 18 in line with the Public Service Act.
The reappointment of Shikongo a 40-year police veteran by President Nangolo Mbumba is effective from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2027.
