DRC President Felix Tshisekedi accused his predecessor Joseph Kabila of planning an insurrection in an interview with Radio Top Congo on Tuesday, 6 August 2024.
Speaking from Belgium, where he was receiving medical treatment, Tshisekedi added that Kabila was the mastermind behind the Congo River Alliance (AFC), which includes the M23 rebels.
The AFC is led by Corneille Nangaa, who was in charge of the Congolese electoral commission when Tshisekedi won the 2018 election.
Kabila’s spokesperson Barbara Nzimbi denounced the allegations, saying they were “without proof or foundation.”
