Zambian MP for Matero, Miles Sampa is under police investigation for sedition after he accused the UPPD-led government of a conflict of interest in the alleged US $10 million MANU building purchase.
In a Facebook video post on August 17, Sampa said there was a conflict of interest when the Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) allegedly purchased the MANU building from After Life for $10 million on behalf of the government.
Miles Sampa was summoned to the Zambian Police Headquarters in Lusaka for questioning on August 29 where a warned and caution statement was recorded.
In response to the allegation, David Nama, former chairperson of the Zambian National Building Society (ZNBS), stated that the MANU building was purchased for 89 million kwacha (US $3.2 million) with approval from former finance minister Bwalya Ng’andu under the PF government.
