Rwanda will host the 2024 Global AI Summit on Africa in partnership with the World Economic (WEF) from October 8 to 9 at the Kigali Convention Centre.
1,000 global leaders will convene under the theme, “AI and Africa’s Demographic Dividend: Reimagining Economic Opportunities for Africa’s Workforce”.
The summit will build on the African Union’s Continental Artificial Intelligence Strategy launched in August and set an ambitious vision for Africa’s AI leadership.
Seven thematic areas will guide dialogue and collaboration at the Glocal AI Summit on Africa: People, Infrastructure, Data, AI Models, AI Applications, Entrepreneurship, and Governance.
The global effort to balance AI’s benefits and risks is evident in the 12 African governments with national AI strategies and the recent launch of the EU AI Act, the world’s first AI regulation.
With the world’s largest and fastest-growing workforce, Africa is poised to shape the global AI landscape, a topic to be discussed at the two-day summit focused on harnessing AI for inclusive economic opportunities, innovation, and workforce skill enhancement.
The registration deadline for the Global AI Summit on Africa is 8 September. For any inquiries, please contact the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Rwanda at gaisafrica24@c4ir.rw.
