A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 Max Flight 8701 made an emergency landing in Orlando, Florida, after experiencing engine problems on 12 March 2019.

The plane’s pilots reported a “performance issue” with an engine shortly after taking off from the Orlando International Airport in California.

No passengers were on board as the aircraft was being ferried to Victorville, California, where Southwest is storing Boeing 737 Max planes after President Donald Trump announced the grounding of all Boeing 737 MAX planes in the United States.

PovoNews.com previously reported that an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max 8 crashed on March 10 soon after takeoff, there were no survivors among the 157 on board.

A similar plane (Boeing 737 MAX 8) owned by Indonesian Lion Air crashed soon after take off from Jakarta in October 2018 killing all 189 people on board.

Southwest’s stock was more than 1% lower in pre-market trading as the airline has more of the 737 Max planes,  more than any other US airline.
