Tunisian Prime Minister Najila Bouden fired by President Kais Saied

Tunisian President Kais Saied dismissed Prime Minister Najla Bouden on August 1 and immediately replaced her with central bank director Ahmed El Hachani.

Najla Bouden became Tunisia’s first female prime minister when she was appointed on October 11, 2021, reasons for her dismissal, however, were not disclosed.

Hachani the new prime minister was born in Tunis on 4 October 1956 and has a master’s degree in law with a specialization in public law.

In a brief statement on Tuesday evening, the presidency announced

The President of the Republic Kais Saied decided to terminate the duties of Mrs. Najla Bouden Ramadan as Prime Minister and appoint Mr. Ahmed El Hachani as her successor
