Zambia has a new national army commander following President Hakainde Hichilema’s decision not to renew Lieutenant General Dennis Sitali Alibuzwi’s contract.
Alibuzwi’s former deputy, Major General Geoffrey Choongo Zyeele, has been appointed as the new national army commander with immediate effect, according to presidential spokesperson Clayson Hamasaka.
In addition, Brigadier General Luswepo Sinyinza has been promoted to Major General and appointed as the new Deputy Army Commander.
Romas Kamangwa has been named Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation, while Alfred Musemuna has been appointed High Commissioner-designate to Kenya.
