A look at the top 8 leadership of South Africa’s third-biggest party uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) national high command announced on 22 August 2024.
The MK party was officially registered with the electoral commission in 2023 and made headlines when former president Jacob Zuma declared he would cast his vote for the MK instead of the ANC.
Jacob Zuma’s popularity helped the MK party win 14% of the national vote in South Africa’s 2024 general elections and 45% in the Kwazulu-Natal province.
The MK National High Command is the highest decision-making body of the party from all the provinces of South Africa, led by a top 8.
